BACKGROUND: Meet Mickey, a sweet young pup who doesn’t let anything slow down his happy spirit. Mickey came to MARL with an injury to his leg, but you would never know it, his tail has been wagging nonstop since the moment he arrived. Mickey loves being included in whatever is going on around him. Whether he’s spending time with people, meeting other animals, or just hanging out nearby, he’s happiest when he’s part of the action. His gentle, friendly nature and constant wagging tail make him impossible not to love. Truly one of the sweetest boys around, Mickey is ready to bring his joyful personality and loving heart to a home of his own.

COMPATIBILITY: Based on our evaluation, we feel that Mickey has the potential to get along with other dogs and cats.

MEDICAL NEEDS: Mickey came to us with an injury to his leg that required a surgery called an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy). While the name sounds complicated, the surgery simply removes the damaged part of the hip joint so the body can form a comfortable “false joint” made of muscle and tissue. The good news is that young dogs tend to do very well with this procedure, and Mickey is already recovering nicely. As he continues to heal and build strength in his leg, he should be able to enjoy normal dog activities like walks, playtime, and hanging out with his people.
