Where is the new building going to be located?
The new building sits exactly where our original shelter was located. There are two entrances – a main entrance for adopters & volunteers at 325 MLK Jr. Blvd N, and a separate, quieter entrance for animal intakes at 790 Featherstone Street.
Will the mailing address or phone numbers change?
MARL’s mailing address and phone numbers did not change at any point. During construction, all mail was forwarded to the temporary location and the front office always retained the original phone numbers.
Will this new facility allow MARL to care for more animals?
MARL will be able to provide life-saving care to twice the amount of animals in the new building. However, the main priority will be to provide a higher quality of life to all of MARL’s dogs and cats during their time at the shelter.
How big will the new building be?
MARL’s new home is about 15,000 square feet. This is three times the size of our original shelter building!
What makes MARL’s new building unique?
Every decision in the design of this new facility was made with the animals’ quality of life as the top priority. Click here to view the highlights of the new shelter.
When will the new location be ready?
MARL is officially moved in to our new facility! We are currently running by appointment only, so please call our office first if you’d to see the animals or take a tour. You can look back at our construction timeline at the bottom of the HOME. HEART. FUREVER. home page.
How can I help with MARL’s new home?!
We would love to have you be part of this monumental step in MARL history! Even though the building is completed, you can still support our campaign by selecting a naming opportunity or donating to the campaign. These funds will be used to cover the cost of the building and fund new programs, staff, and amenities inside of it.
