BACKGROUND: Meet Filbert. If there was a contest at MARL for best puppy dog eyes, Filbert would be the winner by a landslide. But don't let his perpetually sad expression fool you - Filbert is a genuinely happy soul with a lot of love to give. Filbert came to MARL after his friends at a local shelter realized he needed a little extra help to shine. He was shy, reserved, and just couldn’t find his groove there. But since arriving at MARL, Filbert has been cracking open his shell, and let us tell you—what’s inside is pure gold! Each day, we get glimpses of Filbert’s playful and silly side, and it’s impossible not to smile when he lets his guard down. With a face like Filbert's, it's hard not to want to scoop him up, snuggle him, and give him all the kisses.
