MARL ARRIVAL: Koala was brought to MARL as a stray.
BACKGROUND: Meet Koala! It’s hard to believe that Koala was found as a stray, especially with how sweet and friendly she is. This lovely shepherd adores being around people and has a heart full of love to share. Her wagging tail and warm demeanor are sure to win you over the moment you meet her. Koala is highly food-motivated and will do just about anything for a treat, making her not only lovable but also a quick learner. She’s ready to leave her past behind and find her forever home where she can be cherished and adored. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart, Koala is waiting to meet you!
COMPATIBILITY: Based on our evaluation, we feel that Koala has the potential to get along with other dogs. Koala would do best in a home without cats.
MEDICAL NEEDS: Koala has tested positive for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other animals, and once treated, dogs like Koala can go on to live perfectly normal lives. Koala is available through MARL’s Pawsitively Sure Trial Adoption Program, which allows her to begin her heartworm treatment while in the comfort of a home environment. MARL will cover all the costs of her medical care and treatment until she is fully cleared. Treatment involves oral medications and three injections administered over the course of three months, which she would receive at MARL from our veterinarian. If you have any questions regarding Koala or her medical needs, please give our front desk a call at 248-335-9290.
ADOPTION FEE: $250
