Fireworks can be stressful on dogs and cats. This year, we implemented a new program to help the animals at MARL feel safe and secure on nights when Independence Day fireworks were expected.
Introducing The MARL Comfort Crew!
The MARL Comfort Crew, made up of staff and volunteers, was at the shelter until midnight on June 30th, July 4th, July 5th, and July 6th, offering the dogs and cats a range of comforting activities, goodies, and engaging them in board games to distract them from the noise of the fireworks.
The MARL Comfort Crew initiative was featured by several media outlets including WXYZ Detroit, Local 4 Detroit, and HOUR Detroit.
Thanks to our amazing team of staff and volunteers for making this possible!
